There you are :). Looks like the auto approval of avatar photo's isn't working so I have to go and confirm them manually for the time being. Looks like you found the thread about logging into the main site and uploading your picture. Wasn't sure how that would pan out.

I had another look for a game store in both colfax and auburn, didn't have any luck so far. If you can find the name I might have more luck and put it up for you.

I stuck your Colfax store up. It's a little further than I would have liked, but it sounds kind of quirky and cool plus I like to support anyone that makes an effort. Sounds like a fun place :)

Yeah I seriously think he had to make it a 2 part type of store because of the location. It's a small town :D

Forum: Is it at all possible to add a "Mark All Topics Read" thing to the forum? After I read posts, I still see the red flag, even if I hit Refresh. Being able to read everything then just mark em read means I can do other things and not be stuck in this vortex of a forum! ;)

YES! I AGREE. I keep having to check the most recent post times to see if I missed anyone.

Is there a way to navigate to your personal account/messages from the home page? I couldn't find one. I keep having to select "forums" to see if I have messages. And that wasn't easy to see at first either. Is there a way you can make it more obvious regardless of what page we're on? A link that takes us to our inbox, etc?

I don't really know of a way. For the most part the forums and the web page are two seperate programs. just the forum is drawn inside the wordpress site template. the author conveniently made it so the two applications share logins. The two programs being seperate is why were stuck with a roundabout way of getting the avatars from the main web page through to the forums. It's a bit of a hack :(
I'll see if I can find an easier way. For the moment you just have to go straight to the forum and PM's are top right, in the bar thats always at the top of the forums page.

The problem is that the software he's using isn't of his design, it's a plugin for a free web software, so it's going to be very difficult for him to modify it.

Oh. ok. Well, it is easy enough to check the bottom of the forum page to see what the most recent posts are. There usually aren't too many if I check in every couple of days.

Yes. I'm having a similiar issue with smileys and avatars. My website has a similar design to this one. (Admittedly, I plaigarised Adrian a bit.) I'm hoping I'll be able to get it fixed sometime in the near future. This Simple:Press forum is still a little quirky.

Sorry I haven't been around so much the last few days. We released our new Game development framework on the 3rd, and also got a contract job doing the 3D graphics for a training tool for doing remote heart surgery. Pretty cool to think that it will probably end up saving peoples lives :).
Like Jack said, I'm somewhat limited to what I can do to modify the software without causing a lot of headaches when various plugins are upgraded to new more secure versions. Plus I'm not sure how far I would get on my own. The Beauty of WordPress is that you can get away with fairly limited web coding skills. I'm primarily an artist and most of what i have done to modify this site has been pretty minor PHP and CSS stylesheet editing.
Hopefully the authors of the SimplePress forum software will add some of these improvements.
If you want to add avatars to the forums, you have to log in at the main site and edit your profile there, whatever image you pick in the main dashboard will filter through to these forums. I do have to approve the images and do check from time to time incase someone submitted one. So far its only been Pureheart that has done it. I'll check now quickly just incase :)

So you wanna change "Retail" just to "Local Map" and then we can add the areas we are around, as well as having stores listed?

I changed retail to locale and have a dropdown for retail map. I think I'll create another map for people to mark roughly whereabouts they live. Only if they want to of course :).
I will probably create a third map that shows public places where games can be hosted and try and get info regarding hours and fees if any to play in those places.
If you click on locale you will be able to scroll through all the maps on one page, whilst the drop down menu items will show those maps in isolation on their own page.

OK I added the player map, and pinned my own aprox address up there. Retail has been changed to Locale and has a couple of sub pages in the menu. You can add your own pin from google maps and I'll check every few days and update the map on the site. Or you can add a comment to the page with your aprox address and I'll add it to the map for you.

Think about making up some flyers to post around coffee shops, schools, and comicbook stores yet? It's been almost a week since anyone has posted anything, and people aren't making much use of the map thing either.
