heh, you know I think Matt might have been talking to me, but responding on the wrong forum or something. I mentioned playing at great escape on sunday afternoon in the main meetup message boards.
A guy called Richard was hosting a new game there every other sunday. 6 players turned up and it was a fun game. We were using 4th edition rules, though our backgrounds and quirks were rolled from an old 1st edition book. 'Heroe's of legend' or something.
Was fun, my wife is a cleric who apprenticed as a laundress, is passionate about clothes and one item of clothing in particular. is pious and humble, loves children and the sanctity of life. She roled for a quirk and her wealthy family assigned her a butler, who turned out to be a bit like Jeeves and quite resourcefull. So quite a bit of fun to be had there.
Great Escape is quite a nice place to play, the private room was quiet, had a big 7/8' square table big enough for all of us, the room was free. Seems like you only pay if you reserve it, in which case I believe it costs $10. There are two smaller private rooms, and a large gaming room which is more like a large gymnasium/lecture hall in size.
I just wish the game was every Sunday rather than fortnightly.
